Morton Hospital had just one doctor and one nurse when it started in 1937. Today, our team of hospitalists follow inpatients from admission through discharge, consulting with their primary care physician and specialists as needed. Morton Hospital specializes in post-acute care, a.k.a. extended-care rehab, the bridge between hospital and home. This eliminates the need for patients to be discharged from hospitals into skilled nursing facilities.
